How does the 2D avatar work?

The 2D Avatar is a set of a mesh and a Shader that can transform a sprite sheet into a VRchat avatar.

• Sharing or selling 2D Avatar Shader, whether modified or not, is not allowed.
• You can sell your version of the 2D Avatar, including the textures, modified FBX (only if modified), and configured material. Just remember to remove the shader from the package.
• Feel free to use 2D Avatar for commercial purposes, such as monetized videos/livestreams or live events.
• Making commissions is allowed and encouraged, but the person making the commission also needs to have the 2D Avatar.
• Modification of 2D Avatar is allowed and encouraged.
• Uploading public avatars with 2D Avatar is allowed, and you can put them in a world, but you need to specify in the description that you are using 2D Avatar.
• All copyrights and rights of ownership belong to DX.

Is it compatible with Quest?

Unfortunately 2D avatar is only compatible with PC because it uses a custom shader, and custom shaders are blocked on Quest.

Can I sell an avatar that uses 2D Avatar?

Yes, but you should not include the 2D Avatar shader in your package.
In your store you should tell people to buy the 2D Avatar and Import it into the project first

I'm going to make a commission, do I also need to have the 2D avatar?

Yes, both you and the person commissioning you need to have a legitimate copy of the 2D avatar.
